Along with touring with her own band, Niamh also plays with Carlos Nunez . She toured for 8 years with Riverdance, and still performs with them from time to time.

When Niamh has free time on her hands she loves to drop in to The Irish Traditional Music Archive to trawl through their records for inspiration and for research. Concertina.net is a great reference site for concertina players and has a very useful forum. Niamh has won numerous national awards at the Fleadh Cheoil organized by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and has taught at their national headquaters in Monkstown. Niamh is not the only one in her family to be involved in the arts. After retiring early from her job as a secondary school science teacher, Niamh's mother Olivia went on to become a well known landscape artist. Her beautiful oil paintings of Killarney, Dingle and other wonderful areas in Ireland, are much in demand. Have a look at her lovely work at www.oliviaocarra.com. Niamh's sister Deirdre, a multi-instrumentalist, teaches music in her local area in Killorglin and runs the site www.tradbanjo.com. Finally Niamh's father Eoin, who is also now retired from teaching, accompanied Niamh on her last solo album, playing the zither, and has contributed Irish language translations on Niamh's recent collaboration with Basque musician Ibon Koteron.
Speaking of Art, Niamh was the featured artist on the 2007 festival poster for The Ballyshannon Folk Festival, designed by Barry Britton.
