A delicate balance of dance tunes and songs gives "Sugach Samh/Happy Out" a real jamboree feel. Slow, whistful waltzes and airs, uptempo, uplifting jigs and reels give the album it's heart. Songs sung in both English and Gaelic it's soul. In combination the elements give Niamh Ni Charra the opportunity to showcase her many talents and she delivers on that opportunity with full marks. This is one of those albums that feels like a front room session, not so much having a script as an ideal. Enjoyed that song, what do you want to play next, tells of free spirits..
